On July 20, the artist who lives between jazz and pop, Jamie Cullum climbs the stage of the Manuel Possolo Hippodrome in Cascais for an unforgettable night, full of movement and joy. The artist returns to Portugal, bringing the energy that fans have been following over the years. Before the performance of the Briton, Joana Espadinha took the stage to present her latest work, her latest work "O material tem sempre razão" at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo.
The enigmatic Jamie Cullum initially won the fans doing classic covers from Frank Sinatra and other artists. Over the years, Cullum became the author of his music and learned how to play instruments, such as piano, guitar and percussion. Jamie Cullum is a one man show from United Kingdom, with a contemporary report that lives between the jazz and the pop. The music classics as Don’t Stop The Music and Mind Trick are part of Cullum's massive repertoire, which consists in seven studio albums, one live album and two compilations.
Joana Espadinha is responsible for the concert that precedes Jamie Cullum. "Leva-me A Dançar" is the Single of advancement of the singer's second album – o material tem sempre razão, in her own name, edited by Valentim de Carvalho. The debut album was "Avesso", released in 2014.
Joana studied at the Luis Villas-Boas Jazz School - Hot Clube de Portugal, graduated in Jazz from the Conservatoire of Amsterdam and Law at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. At the same time, it also integrates the "Pirate Cassette" and "The Happy Mess". He has participated in albums edited by several artists, as an interpreter and also as lyricist, namely "The bubble" by João Firmino, "Terra Concreta" by Afonso Pais. She teaches singing at the Jazz Course at the University of Évora and the Luis Villas-Boas Jazz School - Hot Clube de Portugal.
Cascais Jazz Sessions kicks off with Tomás Marques, who has already played for the Hot Clube Portugal Orchestra, Big Band Estarejazz and Águeda Jazz Orchestra, currently with the trio of big bands. The young saxophonist just 19 years old has gained notoriety through his applauded live performances. Nowadays, he also integrates the "Ao Paredes Confesso" project of the Bernardo Moreira quintet. In Cascais, the stage comes up with two more musicians.
