On the 5th of October, the Pavilhão Atlântico will receive a visit by one of the biggest international stars of today, the American Jennifer Lopez. A singer, actress, and dancer, J-Lo is a woman of many talents, and is finally coming to Portugal for her first concert here in our country.
Originally from New York, Jennifer Lopez began her career as an actress, but she quickly began making music as well, putting out her first record of original songs, “On the 6” in 1999. Her two careers developed parallel to one another, and she has received innumerable awards both as an actress and as a singer.
Having as of now released 7 original records, J-Lo has sold more than 55 million copies of her albums the world over, making her one of the world’s biggest-selling artists. Her record sales in the United States alone have totalled more than 10 million, including 5 songs that reached number one on the top sales charts.
Singles like "If You Had My Love," "Let's Get Loud," and "Love Don't Cost a Thing" are just a few of the successes that have built J-Lo’s career, and she’s still putting out worldwide hits today, such as "On The Floor" and "Dance Again," featuring Pitbull.
Proving Jennifer Lopez’s broad influence, the prestigious Forbes magazine ranked her as 2012’s Most Powerful Celebrity in the World, coming in above such names as Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise, and Rihanna. The prestigious Forbes list has been coming out each year since 1999.
